In his 12 seasons as head coach of Pitt Volleyball, Dan Fisher has transformed the program into a national powerhouse. Under his leadership, the Panthers have captured six ACC Championships and made five consecutive NCAA Elite Eight appearances, including four straight Final Fours from 2021 to 2024—an unprecedented run in school history. Fisher holds an astounding .823 winning percentage at Pitt (320-69), placing him among the most elite coaches in collegiate volleyball history.
Fisher’s impact goes far beyond wins and titles. He’s elevated the program with a culture of excellence, securing record-breaking victories over Top 5 opponents and building a consistent national contender. He is a four-time AVCA East Region Coach of the Year, three-time ACC Coach of the Year, and the architect behind Pitt’s rise to No. 1 in the NCAA Tournament seeding in 2024. With a contract extension through 2030 and the upcoming Victory Heights arena, Fisher continues to shape the future of Pitt Volleyball.
Beyond the college game, Fisher brings international experience to the court, having coached Team USA to gold at the 2015 Pan Am Games and the U21 Pan Am Cup. His career record of 395-71 (.848) ranks among the top in NCAA history, and his legacy is defined by not just wins—but by redefining what’s possible for Pitt and collegiate volleyball.
