Marcia 'Marty' Woods

Marcia "Marty" Woods has been a cornerstone of the Dalton McMichael High School volleyball program since 1977, amassing an impressive career that has solidified her as the winningest volleyball coach in North Carolina history. As of 2024, she led her team to a remarkable 30-2 record, bringing her total career victories to 836.

Throughout her 47-year tenure, Coach Woods has been instrumental in developing a culture of excellence and dedication within the McMichael volleyball program. Her leadership has not only resulted in numerous victories but also in fostering a supportive environment where student-athletes thrive both on and off the court.​

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, McMichael High School and Rockingham County Schools honored Coach Woods in a special ceremony, celebrating her unwavering commitment and the lasting impact she has made on the school's athletic community.
